But many owners/sellers of architecturally significant homes are vitally interested in ensuring the Art is preserved. If you think about it, it’s probably the only medium where wonderful works are routinely and purposefully destroyed.

Assuming they appreciate the architecture, buyers can be incentivized to purchase, as well as uphold the preservation agenda, through tax benefits provided by local landmark ordinances (most North Shore communities have them). In order to qualify, a vintage property has to be improved within certain guidelines.
